Endorsement

About a month ago I was driving through a busy area of town when I saw what appeared to be a man golfing. What was odd was that:
a) He was a drunk bum (not trying to be classist, but hey...)
b) His golf club was a little thin and wobbly.
c) He was falling over.
Then I realized he was urinating, and very publicly. Then it dawned on me that he was perfect for the Uroclub!

Abita Springs, La

We went on a beer tour in Abita Springs. The taps were really that blurry in real life. The tour was free and the beer was free. I know what we're doing every weekend!

Of Beans and MS Paint

Here's the WOD http://www33.wolframalpha.com/.

For dinner I ate a morning star farms burger and baked beans, and told my boyfriend that if felt like a special occasion, which he laughed at. (insert redneck joke here) Reason being, I usually have baked beans at barbecues. I love them. I think beans are almost the perfect food. A lady I work with doesn't like beans. She likes kittens so I'm guessing she's not all bad. I'm skeptical though. How can you not like beans? Red beans, black beans, kidney beans, lentils (technically not a bean), cannellini, pinto, etc. I mean, how can one eat chili without beans? The answer is not in Texas, dammit.

Anger

I learned today: My anger is usually squelched by three things.
Shouting "Serenity Now!"

Saying, "It just makes me want to set myself on fire!" Lucille Bluth
and

Writing "I hate you" in the palm of my hand while looking at someone. This is a trick I learned from David Rakoff.

2008 Was a Year...

Apparently I learned enough last year to keep to myself and forget about this blog.
Check out the gallery of misused quotation marks and passive aggressive notes. Good stuff.

One

1. Lentil soup is better the second day.
2. Abbie Hoffman was a man. (this was a reminder)
3. I still hate Wal-Mart. (went with M. today at lunch)

I'm sure I learned other things today, because I remember getting stuck in a Wikipedia spiral earlier. Just wanted to check on an article, and an hour later someone was waving smelling salts under my nose. I went from figuring out all the members of the Rat Pack (earlier conversation left it open) ended up on LGBT social movements . Rat pack led to Judy Garland, and you can fill in the rest.

Currently reading: Other People's Mail and it's a damn fine read.
Interested in reading more classics. It's almost the time of year to read the Germans.
